Andrew Swanson Scholarship 25/26 Season
In loving memory of Andrew James Swanson. A dedicated teammate, talented player, and friend to many. AYSO United is honored to announce the Andrew Swanson Soccer Scholarship.
Andrew proudly wore the AYSO United crest as part of our Premier League program and shared a lifelong love of soccer with his brother, CJ. He had a quick sense of humor, a fierce competitive spirit, and a loyal heart, never shying away from standing by someone in need. Whether cooking nachos, riding roller coasters, developing games, or competing on the pitch, Andrew lived with thoughtfulness and heart.
This scholarship will be awarded annually to two Premier League players who demonstrate:
Commitment to training (consistent attendance at practices, games, and tournaments).
Coacaibility (demonstrates a willingness to learn, apply feedback, and grow as a player)
Leadership/Team Impact
Sportsmanship (maintains respect toward teammates, opponents, referees, and coaches)
Resilience (demonstrates perseverance through challenges)
Role model within the club (encourages and supports younger players, sets a positive tone for the team)
Application Requirement:

Applicants must submit a short (1 page) essay responding to the following prompt:
“Soccer is more than just a game—it’s about the people beside you. Soccer teaches us lessons that go beyond the game. Describe one way you hope to carry those lessons into your life off the field—especially in how you might help a friend or teammate in need."
Award:
The recipients will be awarded a $500 scholarship, applied directly toward their AYSO United Club fees
Through this award, we honor Andrew's life, his love for soccer and the lasting reminder that none of us face life's challenges alone.
